We'll get the tired room out of the way. Maybe, it's not a place to take a date you want to impress. It could use a refresh. But what DOES impress is the food, including fully authentic Korean cuisine. Stellar. Bulgogi, kimchi, chigae, soups and stews. All fantastic and bursting with flavor. Add in sushi -- I say it's the freshest fish served in Windham County. And the Shin-la Love Boat is a great value - enough sushi for at least 3 and possibly 4 people. Finally, the service is friendly, fast and efficient. This is our midweek go-to Asian. It should be yours too.

Delicious. I drove from Bennington to Brattleboro for this wonderful restaurant. The parking is a little difficult but everything else I would go back for 100 times.

We had plans to see a movie at the Latchis so we ate across the street. The dining room at Shin La is very cute and they had live flowers on many of the tables. The booth seating was a little uncomfortable because the backrest is so straight but service was quick and we got our food pretty quickly. My husband loved his chicken tempura and wanted more. The restaurant is in down town Brattleboro. Down the street from the parking garage. I would try this place again.

Best sushi around! We're visiting from Los Angeles, and I can honestly say the sushi here is better than anything in Los Angeles. We enjoyed the Godzilla roll, the Crunch Roll and Spicy tuna roll, as well as the teriyaki tofu. The staff was so sweet, and it seemed like all the patrons enjoyed their food. Would 100 percent come again. I'm looking forward to it!

I am delighted to report that the new ownership of Shinla has kept the magic alive! I grew up on Mrs. Kim's chicken rice soup - my dad I and I went weekly if not more frequently. I no longer live in the area, but try and stop by whenever I am visiting my parents. The menu has expanded a bit in the Korean direction from what I remember, with plenty of stews to choose from. I went for the chicken rice soup, Yakimandoo, and an appetizer that was pretty much radish kimchi. Everything was tasty and as remembered. I'm excited to come back here for a full-blown dinner! One thing I do wish they did was serve all the banchans on the table with entrees, but hey, it's Vermont.
